Standard 15:

School/program engages in a continuous improvement process for STEM

DeKalb County is one of the 4th largest districts in the state of Georgia with approximately 750,000 residents.  Of that number, just over 1,000 attend Stone Mountain Middle School.  Beginning with our Continuous School Improvement Plan (CSIP) implemented every FY, the administrative leadership team meets regularly to collaborate, share ideas, for school development as well as visit and discuss the STEM Program.  Additionally, the STEM Coordinator meets with the STEM Team, grades 6 – 8th, monthly to discuss the next steps for growth, professional development, and the programs improvement.  Both the Administrative Leadership Team and the STEM Team continue to be active and involved within our school.  As we strive to grow our students, we will continue to prepare them for college and game changing STEM careers.
